Director of ICRDCE attended and presented a paper on “Skills Development through Community College” at the Community Colleges for International Development (CCID 34th Annual Conference “Community Colleges: Architects of Global Prosperity” at Houston, U.S.A. on February, 2010.

INTERNATIONAL EXPERIENCES - IIE Visit
Dr. Xavier Alphonse, S.J., have selected by the Institute of International Education (IIE), New Delhi and Embassy of the United States of America, New Delhi for a study trip to U.S. from the 22nd - 31st March, 2014 to visit Community Colleges in Washington, D.C. Seattle and New York. He led the team which has representatives from Arunachel Pradesh, Andhra Pradesh, Bihar, Maharashtra and Nagaland.
Outcome of the Visit 
• Evaluation and assessment of skills workshop 
• Curriculum development workshops for specific skills workshops 
• Training of administrators, general orientation on the Community College system 
• Industrial institution partnership training workshops 
• Workshops can be conducted in India with experts from U.S.A. 12 workshops (three days per workshop), Southern, Central and Northern regions of India. US Community College experts can come from these four Colleges. They should be not only scholars of particular domain but should have sensitive knowledge about the Indian reality. Funds have to be raised from Benevolent Foundations through joint projects between the Colleges and ICRDCE. Foundations have been laid and contact persons have been identified in all the Colleges.

I. USA - INTERNATIONAL EDUCATIONAL (STUDENT) EXCHANGE PROGRAMME 
The US Consulate of Chennai for the international educational exchange program. This programme enables individuals from selected countries to study at a Community College in United States to develop professional skills. This programme is sponsored by the Bureau of Educational and Cultural Affairs of the United States Department of Sate. The following students have been selected from the Community Colleges:

SHAPING THE FUTURE: MEXICO CONFERENCE – MAY 2010
The Director of ICRDCE attended “Shaping the future: Conference on Networking of Jesuit Higher Education for Globalized World” from 21st to 25th of April at Mexico, in which the Director of ICRDCE represented in the Panel Discussion for Asia. 250 Participants attended.
Director of ICRDCE attended Conference on Jesuit Higher Education from 21st to 25th of August 2010, the Theme: Networking Jesuit Higher Education for the Globalizing World, at Mexico.
250 Rectors and Representatives of Jesuit universities around the world, gathered together at Mexico city for the World Congress in the presence of very Rev. Fr. General Adolfo Nicolas, S.J.

PAPUA NEW GUINEA (PNG)

The Government of Papua New Guinea (PNG) (PNG is an island near Australia) has decided to start Community College system. In this context Mr. Thomas Doehrman, Special Envoy of PNG government has visited a few Community Colleges in Chennai. The Papua New Guinea Government has accepted the Community College system at the policy level and has made commitment to establish 75 Community Colleges in the next five years. 13 Community Colleges will come up in 2008 with the Government funding. The entire Government including the Honorable Prime Minister are involved in the

PNG Community Colleges Trust Meeting at Singapore - 27th & 28th January, 2013

The ICRDCE team went to Singapore to have a review of the community colleges in PNG on the 14th & 15th of January 2011 in which the Honourable Minister for Education Mr. James Marape, Education Secretary and the Director of the Community College Secretariat participated with the other officials. We planned together to have 35 community colleges by 2012. 
The ICRDCE Team reviewed the functioning of PNG Community Colleges and ITE Trust, PNG in Singapore on 24th to 26th of February 2012

The Director and his team went to PNG for Review & Evaluation of the Ten Existing Community Colleges and Ten Upcoming Community College from 21st to 25th of May 2012.

Fr. M. S. Jacob, S.J., the Deputy Director of ICRDCE, Chennai went to PNG for evaluation of the project from 20th of February to 20th of March 2011 at the invitation of the Education Minister Honourable James Marape. He visited all the 10 parallel stream community colleges and all the De-Novo sites that are earmarked for starting Community College.

BISHOP CONFERENCE PNG – APRIL 2010
The Director of ICRDCE was invited to address the bishops in the Bishop's Conference of PNG and Solomon Island and Reviewed the Community College activities in PNG from 13th to 17th of April 2010.

PHILLIPINES CONFERENCES: June 2015.

"One Day Workshop on Community College System in India" Organised by Ateneo De Manila University, Quzeon City, Philippines on 20th June 2015, Dr. Xavier Alphonse, S.J., ICRDCE, Chennai was the Resource person in which 45 participants participated.  

TAIWAN

Dr. M.S. Jacob, S.J., Director, ICRDCE, addressed the "President Forum" during 5th Asia Pacific Regional Conference on Service Learning held at Fu Jen Catholic University on 27th to 29th, May 2015 and also presented a paper on "From Service Learning to Community Engagement".  There were 300 delegates from 7 Asian and Pacific Countries. He also visited Yungho Community University offering skill based programmes at the Community level.

MYANMAR

International Experience - Visit to Myanmar, June 2016.
Dr. M.S. Jacob, S.J., Director, ICRDCE, went to Myanmar at the invitation of Fr. C. Amal, S.J., through Animation Resource Centre and explored the possibility of opening Community Colleges in Myanmar. He addressed all the 16 Catholic bishops’ conference of Myanmar on 9th June 2016 and also around 40 leaders of the various religious congregations working in Myanmar. The response was overwhelming. He also addressed the Tamil business people on the concept of the Industrial Partnerships with the Community Colleges. They were really excited about this concept of ICRDCE Community Colleges with all Life Skills, Work Skills and Internships.
Workshop on Community Colleges was conducted in Yangon, Myanmar for 4 days from 1st to 4th November, 2016 at the Archbishop's House. 

An interface meeting was organized between employers and the participants on 4th November, 2016.  Employers from shipping and logistics, construction, hotel & tourism and pipeline industry shared their views and expectations from their industries. 

The Main Objective of the Interface meeting is that "Explaining the role of the Industrial and Community Partnership in the Community College System".

Rev. Dr. M.S. Jacob, S.J., Director, ICRDCE and Mr. Anto Vincent were the resource persons and 38 participants from all over Myanmar attended this programme.
