I. The new batch of Dr. Chandra Devanesen Rural Community College with 70 students at Karanai Village was inaugurated by Dr. Xavier Alphonse,. S.J., Director, ICRDCE on 1st of July, 2019. This is the 18th batch of students. The college has also secured 100% of employment.

II. Dr. Xavier Alphonse,. S.J., Director, ICRDCE inaugurated the academic year of St. Joseph's Community College, Bangalore with 350 students and their parents on the 19th of July2019. This is the 15th batch of students in the college. It has been very successful in sending students for NSDC certification in five trades. This is the undertaking of the Karnataka Jesuits.

III. ICRDCE conducted its 40th Teachers Training Programme for the Community College teachers from 8th to 13th July 2019, at Dhyana Ashram Chennai 45 participants belonging to 9 states of India participated.

IV. The Director of ICRDCE met with Mr. Manishkumar, CEO, National Skill Development Corporation (NSDC) on 11th of July, 2019 and discussed the issues regarding the recognition of the Community Colleges as a separate category of, Skill Development Centres and also Scholarships available for students and also additional job roles belonging to new Sector Skill Councils.

VI. Fr. Xavier Alphonse was the resource person and conducted the workshop on draft New Education Policy at Scott Christian College, Nagercoil on 26th July. 280 teachers participated in the discussion and sent their responses to MHRD, New Delhi.
