I. Dr. Xavier Alphonse, S.J., Director, ICRDCE, Chennai was invited to be the Chief Guest for the 21st Annual Day of Kanyakumari Community College, Mariagiri, on 18th March 2019 at Kulapuram, Kanyakumari District. He distributed NSDC Scheme completion certificate to 131 Students in 3 trades in the presence of the Bishop of Malankara Catholic Diocese.




II. ICRDCE, Chennai organized Graduation ceremony of the English Access Microscholarship Program at St. Joseph's College for Women (Autonomous), Visakhapatnam on 20th of March 2019 at 10.30a.m. in the presence of Mr. John Drew Giblin, Public Affairs Officer, U.S. Consulate General Hyderabad. All the officials appreciated the efforts of ICRDCE to help the marginalized women to acquire spoken / written English Language.



III. ICRDCE Team had a Review meeting with National Skill Development Corporation (NSDC) at New Delhi on the 25th of March, 2019. We have enrolled 1667 students from 33 Training Centres all over India from 10 States which is beyond the target fixed by NSDC. We have trained the students in 15 Job roles and issued them Government approved Certificates.



IV. The ICRDCE team participated in the annual convocations of St. Anthony's Community College, Bangalore, KGF Community College, Kolar, Holy Cross Community College, Thimmarajupalem, A.P., and Satvidya Rural Community College, Prakashpalya near Mysore. The students got for the first time the National Skill Development Corporation (NSDC) Certificate (Central Government approved certification).


V. The ICRDCE organized the review and evaluation of the NSDC scheme implemented in 33 Community College for the year 2018-2019. 85 participants from 55 Community Colleges attended the meeting from 24th to 25th April, 2019. The Community Colleges expressed their satisfaction and gave constructive suggestions regarding the implementation of the NSDC scheme.



VI. ICRDCE has established an international partnership for Skill Development with Georgetown University, Washington DC. After the team from the University comprising of Dr. Thomas Banchoff, Vice President for Global Engagement and Fr. Julio Giulietti, S.J., visited ICRDCE and a few Community Colleges during the month of February, 2019.
