South Indian Community College Conference


ICRDCE conducted the South Indian Community College Conference at Poondi near Trichy, Tamilnadu on 16th and 17th September, 2018. There were 85 participants from 60 Community Colleges from the States of Tamilnadu, Andhra Pradesh, Karnataka, Kerala and Puducherry. The aim of the conference was to take stock of the functioning of the Community Colleges and also provide future directions.



North Indian Community College Conference:

ICRDCE organized the North Indian Community College Conference in Ranchi where 40 participants from 25 Community Colleges from the States of Jharkhand, West Bengal, Meghalaya, Uttar Pradesh, Himachal Pradesh, Madhya Pradesh, Maharashtra, Gujarat and Odisha. The conference was inaugurated by the new Archbishop of Ranchi Rt. Rev. Felix Toppo, S.J. He appreciated the Community College work. He encouraged many more agencies to start Community Colleges in different states of north India.

The participants appreciated the initiative of ICRDCE to join the NSDC non funding programme so that all colleges get national recognition which was the real need of the Community Colleges to help benefit more students. The colleges also gave the action plan for the year, 2018-2019. In both the Conferences, ICRDCE presented the Profile of 27,479 students (sample study) from 56 Community Colleges for the last eight years. The data was encouraging and affirming to see that we are serving the target group.
